Devotional John 14: Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life

My second devotional today, continuing in the sequence of the book of John, was on chapter 14.

Synopsis: After Holy Communion, Jesus spoke with His disciples about how He is the way to reach God: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). Furthermore, Jesus also told them that although He would be leaving them shortly, He would not leave them as orphans. For God the Father will send the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to remain with all those who accept Him and keep His commandments. For it will be the Holy Spirit who will teach them everything about The Word and bring them closer to Jesus and God the Father.

Observations

That being said, these were my observations:

1. The way has already been taught to us. When Jesus said that He is the way, He affirms to us that He knows the path that will lead us to God. And He teaches us that the journey we must take to reach Him is to follow His example.
2. The truth is exclusive. When Jesus said that He is the truth, He affirms to us that all other existing theories that promise to lead us to God are false. For God is a logical divinity, and therefore He made everything with a purpose and a logical reason through words that form the basis of logical thought. And one of the rules of logic is the law of non-contradiction, which states that A and ~A (the opposite of A) cannot both be true; only one can. That is to say, if Jesus is the truth, then by logical deduction, all other theories on how to reach God and His Identity are false.
3. Eternal life exists and we can attain it. When Jesus said that He is the life, He affirms to us that He is the source of life, for in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. Jesus, being the word, also participated in the creation of the universe. Furthermore, He also affirms to us that eternal life exists and that He will come to give it to us if we keep His commandments.
4. The Holy Spirit is responsible for comforting us, teaching us, and bringing us closer to God. When Jesus said that the Father would send the Holy Spirit to remain with Christians while He returns to the right hand of God the Father, He affirms to us that He will not leave us alone on this journey. For Jesus knew that we were going to need guidance, comfort, and the spirit of holiness to be able to press forward with the mission He gave us to make disciples of all nations of the earth.
